Daily Journal Info:
4 Questions the student is to ask themselves every day. (in SS notebook or other notebook dedicated to the journal)
1. What are you thankful for today? List or write about 3-5 things, and name them (be as specific as possible!)
2. Describe 1 positive interaction you had today in at least 2-3 sentences.
3. Describe the most intense part of your day in at least 2-3 sentences
(sometimes the intense part of your day will also be #2 and does not have to be repeated if that is the case)
(can be positive or negative, doesn't even have to be that intense, just the MOST intense you felt that day)
4. What will you do better tomorrow?
They should do this at 1 of many possible times during the day:
1 The end of the school day or their regular day (or in between) --> preferred time
2 The next morning (change the last question accordingly) --> if forgot to do
If done a day or more after a journal entry should have been made -> should not be done, defeats the purpose of the journal

Mental Math and Fact Fluency:
106/109 --> Fluency can be skip counting (with or without the hand tapping) by 2s, 3s, 4s etc (keep going onto the next number when done).
Count up to about 65 (or higher as you get into bigger numbers) and then back down by the number you are skip counting. A 100 grid may be used for assistance. 110 --> Go online (see "Resources" tab) and/or use a suggested app/website Most math apps they use on iPads in class can be used as fluency practice. *Key is to use an app that has adjustable settings, in order to increase/decrease the difficulty.* Recommended Websites: www.stridestart.com Kids are familiar with this website, they use it in MediaLab Class codes Brennan: Cohen: **Students passwords are their student ID #s Recommended apps: **Apps that have adjustable settings are best for this type of practice, it can become more challenging as the student begins to master certain facts and move into more complex problems/fact fluency** Splash Math (106/109) Mental Math Cards - Tips, Fact Practice and Timed Challenges (MAC ONLY - I think...)
